What are my options if i have to replace an integrated video card?

i have a gateway 5200 series desktop. do i have to replace the whole mother board or is there another way? any ideas?|||you need to either replace the motherboard or get a new videocard.

if your monitor wont work, you have to put in the videocard before you change the bus adaptor. the card should still run just windows wont recognize it before you install the drivers.

Hope this helps!|||Disable the integrated video adapter in Device Manager and install a new video card.|||no you dont restart your pc as it is starting up hold down the del key to u come to the bios sereen menu as ur pc is loading up there me be a key u tap to get in the bios menu then when your in the bios menu just disable your integrated video card then hit esc key and f10 to save settings then put ur pc off and remove the cover and put in your new

Graphics Card

here is a good one to look for

ATI Radeon 256MB PCI Express Graphics Card

that is a very good Graphics Card

when that is in put your pc cover back on power up the pc and have the driver cd ready to install your Graphics Card|||Are you positive its the video and not the Monitor? Is the system still under warranty?

First step, verify that it is in fact the video adapter. Hook it up to another monitor somehow, take it to a friends if you have to.

I would contact Gateway before following any of this advanced advice above.

How can they get into the BIOS they cant see the screen?

PCI Express is new technology, make sure your system is compatible before you go out and buy any video cards. There is more than one flavor of PCI Express and AGP as well, be careful and research before you buy.
